It is neither a kit nor a part to be glued. This is a full-color print of an instrument panel with a three-dimensional relief, printed on decal paper and applied into a cockpit as a decal. In 1:32 scale the pilot's compartment stays clearly visible once the fuselage is closed up, so it is precisely the panel that carries the greatest part of the resulting impression of the interior.
The design aims exactly at the surface of the cast instrument panel in the kit. Before gluing, check the position with a dry fit: the edges of the print must coincide with the outline of the plastic part, not with the frame around it. The raised cast circles of the instruments usually get in the way; if the base is not smooth, the print will stay standing on them and a silvery edge will form around the rim. Sand the surface fully, then, or at least level the tops of the relief, so that the three-dimensional layer of the decal seats onto a flat surface. With a bomber with a roomy pilot's cockpit, count also on the panel adjoining sprayed surfaces of the interior: choose the shade of the surroundings so that it does not come across as plastic against the printed panel.
The base has to be glossy; on matte paint air is held under the decal and silvering arises. Soak the decal in warm water only until it releases from the backing, move it into place with a brush and draw the excess water off with the edge of a paper towel. Dose the softener sparingly and drop by drop: a three-dimensional layer reacts differently from a thin classic decal and if it is flooded it can ripple. Once it is perfectly dry, go over the surroundings with a matte varnish and leave the glasses of the instruments themselves glossy, or accentuate them with a drop of gloss varnish.
