A Lightcraft Magnifier with 3x Magnification and LED Lighting

A modeling magnifier with 3x magnification completed with LED lighting of its own, from the Model Craft range. It is a workshop aid, not a model or an accessory to a kit. The combination of magnification and its own light solves two things at once: a small part is seen larger and at the same time without the shadow your own hand or the fuselage of a model under construction casts on the bench.

Use

• Working with photo-etched parts, where the orientation of a part and the place of a bend have to be made out before the glue goes on.
• Painting the detail of figures, instrument panels and small markings, where you work with a brush tip of a few bristles.
• Checking the parting lines, sanding marks and putty transitions that blend into their surroundings at ordinary viewing.
• Applying decals and seating them accurately into engraved lines.
• Cutting and cleaning up small moldings, where exactly where the gate runs matters.

Who it is for

For modelers who work in small scales or with detail sets, and generally for anyone whose eyes are no longer up to the detail a build demands. A magnification of 3x is a sensible compromise: enough for small parts while leaving a usable field of view and working distance, so that you can really work under the magnifier rather than merely inspect finished work. Its own LED lighting moreover frees the bench from depending on how the ceiling light happens to fall.
