The real subject

The Ural 4320 is a Soviet and later Russian off-road truck with drive to all three axles, built in large numbers for army use. It is recognized by its high ground clearance, the angular cab above the front axle and the long cargo bed. The armored capsule is an armored space for the crew or for the people being carried, which is fitted to a vehicle like this where there is a risk of being hit by fragments or by small-arms fire. Building and painting tips

Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; the particular procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Wash and degrease the surface before painting, otherwise the finish will not hold. The armored surface is large and smooth, so a single uniform shade looks flat on it: break the base tone up with a light lightening of the panels and a darkening of the edges and seams. At the bottom it pays to add a deposit of dust and mud, because that is exactly where an off-road vehicle carries them, and to darken the underside of the chassis.
