Sandbag armor for the M4A1 Sherman with large hatches in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of cast improvised sandbag armor for the American M4A1 Sherman medium tank in the late version with the large driver's and radio operator's hatches, in 1:35 scale. The parts are shaped exactly to this type of hull front, so both the fitting and the modeling from putty fall away.
The M4A1 had a cast hull with rounded shapes. Early machines had small hatches with raised housings; the late version received large hatches with a differently arranged front, which made getting in and out of the vehicle easier. Sandbags on the front of the hull were among the most common improvisations of the last year of the war in Europe.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and try the fit dry. Bond with super glue and fill the seam. Paint the canvas flat and let the shades between the bags vary slightly. Let the base color of the vehicle show through under the bags, so that it is clear this is a layer added later and not part of the armor.
The set is an accessory to a kit and does not replace the kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
