Masking templates in 1:72 scale for a model of the Soviet fighter Polikarpov I-16 type 5. They are stuck onto the model before spraying.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Polikarpov I-16 was a Soviet single-seat fighter of the 1930s and one of the first production fighter low-wing monoplanes with retractable landing gear. You will recognize it by its short stubby fuselage and the radial engine in the front. Type 5 belongs among the early production versions of this aircraft.
The set holds masking templates for 1:72 scale and is intended for a model of the Polikarpov I-16 type 5. The templates are cut to shape, so the laborious cutting out of strips of adhesive tape falls away and, above all, so does guessing where the edge of the paint should run. In a small scale that tells most: masking the frames of a canopy by hand tends to be the most time-consuming part of the whole build in 1:72. Which surfaces the set covers is described by the instructions enclosed.
Stick the templates on before spraying, onto a clean and degreased surface. Press them down all around the edge, especially carefully on the corners, so that the paint does not run under them. Spray in thin layers and lead the stream perpendicular to the surface, not at a sharp angle against the edge of a mask. Take a template off as soon as the paint has set and is not yet fully cured; pull it back over itself, not perpendicularly away from the model. On clear parts proceed slowly, so that no imprint stays behind after it.
A kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
