A set of the AL-31F engine exhaust nozzles for the Su-33 in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Wolfpack is a resin detailing accessory for the tail of the model. It is not a kit of the aircraft. Intended for the Hasegawa kit.

This detailing set from the manufacturer Wolfpack replaces the plastic exhaust nozzles of both engines on a model of the Su-33 carrier-based fighter aircraft in 1:72 scale. In this scale plastic nozzles are usually treated only by suggestion, because the mold allows neither a thin edge nor the depth of the duct. A resin casting manages both, and the inside of the nozzle stops looking like a blind surface. The target kit is Hasegawa.

The Su-33 is a twin-engine carrier-based fighter aircraft derived from the land-based version of the Su-27 family. For operation from a ship's deck it was given strengthened landing gear, a folding wing, an arrestor hook and canard foreplanes. The power plant consists of a pair of engines of the AL-31F series with afterburners, mounted far apart in nacelles at the sides of the fuselage. It is precisely the spacing of the two nozzles that makes the aircraft's tail visually prominent even on a small model.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water, so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc, and do not break them. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), as a cement for plastic models will not join resin. Sand wet and with respiratory protection. Apply a primer before painting. In 1:72 scale the painting has to be kept fine, as a heavy layer would swallow precisely the detail the set is bought for. Metallic shades sprayed thinly and a light dark wash on the division of the petals work well.
This is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The set is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
