Top Studio 1:12 Yamaha YZR-M1 2004 Super Detail-Up Set is an extensive detail set for building a model of the Yamaha YZR-M1 racing motorcycle of the 2004 season in 1:12 scale. It is not a kit of the motorcycle.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Top Studio set is an accessory to an already purchased plastic kit of the Yamaha YZR-M1 racing motorcycle of the 2004 season in 1:12 scale. The Super Detail-Up Set format is this manufacturer's most comprehensive type of detail set and combines several materials. The model of the motorcycle itself, paints and glue are not included.
The Yamaha YZR-M1 was a works prototype of the premier class of road racing from the era of 990 cc engines. It was powered by a liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder engine in an aluminum Deltabox frame, with racing electronics, a set of exhausts routed under the seat and a full fairing package. The 2004 season was a title-winning one for this machine and ranks among the most closely followed periods of the brand in this class.
Top Studio detail sets aim at the areas where a plastic kit necessarily simplifies: brake discs and calipers, the chain, the front fork and its inner tubes, the routing of the brake, fuel and cooling lines, wire clips, and screws and nuts with a realistic head. Fitting takes place gradually during the build, not on the finished model, because some of the parts have to be added before the fairing covers them.
Try the parts dry first and note down the assembly order. Wash the resin and metal parts in warm soapy water to remove mold release residue, and bond them with super glue, because plastic cement will not help here. Prime the metal faces with a metal primer. Warm the tubing briefly before bending it, so that the curve holds its shape and does not break.
An accessory for a kit. The motorcycle kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
