This is an aftermarket detail set, not a motorcycle kit. It replaces the simplified plastic chain from the box with a faithful metal link chain in 1:12 scale that looks as though it could move. The set is intended for a model of the Suzuki GSX-RR racing motorcycle and lifts the realism of the drive train noticeably, because the chain is one of the most closely watched details of any road or racing replica.
Separate the parts carefully, then clean and degrease them. The metal chain can be adjusted as needed to the pitch of the rear sprocket and the front sprocket, set with a realistic sag on the upper and lower run, and then aged with metallic pigments or a dark wash for the look of a run-in, oiled chain. Use super glue (cyanoacrylate) to fix the end links. We recommend working with tweezers and protecting the bright metal surfaces while painting.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
