An injection-molded plastic kit of the Black Falcon pirate sailing ship in 1:120 scale from the Czech maker Smer. The model represents a typical three-masted frigate in the style of the golden era of piracy, with full rigging and gun ports; the package holds injection-molded sprues, rigging thread and decals. It is a ready kit with a lower part count, suitable for beginning modelers as well.
The Black Falcon is a fictional pirate ship based on the appearance of the armed sailing ships of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. It is not a particular historic vessel but a typical representative of the ships that plied the Caribbean and the Atlantic in the Golden Age of Piracy: a fast, well-armed frigate with high superstructures and rich decoration. The mold of the model has its roots in an older classic kit and remains among the popular pirate subjects to this day.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and clean up the hull joints. Set the masts upright, the yards symmetrically, and tension the rigging gradually, so that the masts are not pulled out of line. Tone the wood in shades of brown and bring the hull to life with contrasting stripes and gun ports. Set the finished model on the stand supplied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
