An easy-to-build plastic kit of the guided missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG-59) in the small collector's scale of 1:1250 from the manufacturer Hobby Boss. The kit offers a low part count, the choice of a full hull or a waterline version and an enclosed display stand. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
USS Princeton belongs to the American Ticonderoga class of guided missile cruisers. The ships of the later batches of this class carried vertical launch cells for the missile armament and the Aegis combat system with a powerful radar, thanks to which they mainly carried out air and missile defense of task forces. Princeton entered service at the end of the 1980s.
Given the small scale, a clean coat and fine accenting of the decks come out best. Assemble the hull, clean up the parting joint and lay the base gray on with an airbrush. Set the decks off in a darker shade and pick out the small parts of the superstructure with a brush. A fine wash will deepen the shadows and a dry brush will pull out the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
