A set of wheels in 1:20 scale for a model of the six-wheeled Tyrrell P34 Formula 1 car in its 1976 season specification.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Tyrrell P34 is the best known oddity in the history of Formula 1: a car with six wheels. Instead of two front wheels of ordinary size it had four small ones, arranged on two axles one behind the other, while the rear wheels stayed conventional. The intention was twofold, namely to reduce the frontal area of the car behind the front wing and to divide the braking and the steering work among more tires. The car entered the 1976 season and won one of the world championship races of that year, so it did not remain a mere engineering curiosity. The designation Ford in the name refers to the supplier of the powerplant.
These are wheels for a model in 1:20 scale. It is precisely the wheels on this car that the result stands on: the four small front wheels are its identifying mark, and a poor shape or bad placement will be noticed even by a viewer who knows nothing about Formula 1. The extent of the parts and the assembly procedure are described in the instructions from the maker of the set.
Try the wheels dry before painting and check that the model stands on all of them without rocking. Leave the mating and glued faces free of paint, otherwise the joint will not hold and a wheel will work loose in time. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, as paint does not hold on a greasy surface. Paint the discs separately and assemble them only once dry. On the front wheels, make sure both axles stand in the same track, otherwise the car looks damaged.
This is an accessory set. The kit of the car, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
