A resin accessory in 1:144 scale meant for a model of the six-engined An-225 Mriya cargo aircraft. It holds replacement landing gear wheels that are exchanged for the plastic parts from the kit. The kit itself is not part of the package; this is an aftermarket detail, not a model.
The An-225 was the largest transport aircraft ever built and its landing gear is multi-wheeled: the main gear consists of rows of individual wheels under the fuselage, with the nose section added to them. That is exactly why changing the wheels pays off more on a model of this type than on an ordinary aircraft; faults in the shape of a tire repeat along a long row and it shows. Resin wheels tend to be cast with a sharper rendering of the hub and with a tire that has a noticeable sidewall.
In 1:144 scale the parts are very small, so work over a mat with a raised edge or over a cloth, so that a casting does not fly away when you cut it off. Cut the casting blocks off with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw and level the surface only lightly. Wash the mold release agent off the castings, or the paint will peel. Glue with super glue applied with a pin; a drop from the nozzle is too much for a part this small. Never paint the tires in pure black; use a dark gray, possibly with a hint of brown, so that they do not merge. Paint the hubs separately and fit the wheels only once the gear legs are finished; on an aircraft with this many wheels it pays to draw the order and the handedness on paper beforehand, so that you do not get lost among the small parts.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a kit. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
