Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:144 scale from the maker Mark I. The set represents the postwar Czechoslovak Avia S-199 fighter aircraft in the variant with the Erla type of cabin (an overall rounded shape of canopy). The package is conceived as two models in one box, so you build a pair of fighters at once. Clear cabin parts and a decal sheet are included.
The Avia S-199 came about in postwar Czechoslovakia as an improvised solution: a Junkers Jumo 211 bomber engine was fitted to airframes derived from a German fighter aircraft. The combination of a powerful but heavy engine and an unsuitable propeller earned the machine the nickname Mezek, meaning mule. Even so the S-199 went down in history as one of the first fighter aircraft of the newly formed Israeli Air Force, and it saw combat in 1948. The variant with the Erla cabin had a conventionally stepped, rounded canopy.
In 1:144 scale the parts are small, so work with small drops of thin cement and a sharp knife when cleaning up. A small model rewards careful masking of the cabin frames. We recommend a primer and subtle shades; apply the decals over a gloss clear coat so that no silvering appears at the edges. Two models in the box make it possible to build different color schemes side by side.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
