A resin accessory in 1:144 scale for a model of the Boeing 707 series 320. It is not a kit of the aircraft but a set of parts that replace the retracted flaps on the wing with extended ones. The whole profile of the trailing edge of the model changes with it, because a smooth surface turns into stepped devices with distinct gaps.
The Boeing 707-320 is the long-range standard of the four-engine jet airliner with a lengthened fuselage and an enlarged wing compared with the shorter series. It is precisely the large wing with its extensive high-lift devices that is most conspicuous on a model, and that is why it is most missed when it is molded as a smooth surface. In its day the aircraft became one of the most widespread types in long-haul transport, so it suits practically every airport scene from the second half of the twentieth century.
The recommended procedure is the opposite of the one impatience tempts you into: first try out on a copy of the parts where the cut will run, and only then cut into the wing. Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent before gluing and remove the remains of the casting blocks with a saw and a file. Resin sands away quickly, so level the mating surfaces with short strokes. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, which sets at once, so test the position of the part by dry-fitting in advance. Paint the inner surfaces before fitting and even out the surface with primer, so that the resin and the plastic react to the clear coat in the same way.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
