A small add-on set that replaces the landing gear wheels from a kit. This is not a model of an aircraft – it is an improvement that will give your Li-2 finely drawn hubs and tires with no mold seam of the kind plastic wheels glued from two halves tend to have.
The Lisunov Li-2 was the Soviet licensed derivative of the famous American twin-engine transport aircraft, built from the end of the 1930s. During the Second World War it served as a transport and a night bomber, and after the war it flew with the airlines of the Eastern Bloc for decades. It is precisely the landing gear with its prominent wheels that is one of the few details on a model in this small scale that can really be seen.
A resin casting captures the pattern of the hub and the valve more sharply than injection-molded plastic allows, and the sanding of the seam between the halves of a wheel falls away. All you have to do is cut off a small casting block, sand the mark down and fit the wheel onto the stub of the landing gear leg with super glue. Paint the hubs and set the tire apart with a dark gray; the outline of the hub is helped by a circular template or careful brushwork.
