The Rafale is a French multirole combat aircraft. The letter B denotes the two-seat version with two seats in tandem; the qualifier early in the name points to the early form of the cockpit, which differs from the later one in the equipment of the crew stations. The cockpit is the most exposed part on a two-seat machine, because the canopy reveals it along its whole length.
This is an accessory for a kit in 1:48 scale, not a stand-alone model. It replaces or supplements the cockpit area and adds details that get lost on the kit parts. The exact contents of the set and the kit it is built for are given in the manufacturer's instructions; check that before buying, because the two-seat version has a different cockpit area from the single-seater.
The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for plastic models has no effect on them; bond the joints with super glue and try them dry before gluing. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder off carefully so as not to damage the edge. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on them. Finish the cockpit and let it dry before you close the fuselage, and fit the canopy only at the very end.
For modelers who want an open and credibly equipped cockpit on the Rafale B. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
