Decals in 1:16 scale for the StuG III assault gun with the markings of vehicles deployed in Italy in 1943.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of decals in 1:16 scale for a model of the German StuG III assault gun. The markings are tied to the Italian theater in 1943 and the name gives the units 16. Panzer Division and SS-StuG-Abteilung RFSS. The package holds markings for a model you already have built, not a kit.
The StuG III is based on the chassis of the Panzer III medium tank, on which a low fixed casemate with the gun mounted in the front plate takes the place of a rotating turret. That makes the vehicle considerably lower than a tank and harder to spot in the terrain, but it has to be aimed by turning the whole hull. The versions deployed in 1943 already carried a long-barreled 7.5 cm gun and were supplemented by side armor plates. The Italian theater at that time meant mountainous terrain, narrow roads and fighting confined to valleys and coastal strips.
The casemate of the StuG III has a great many sloping surfaces and transitions on which a design easily traps an air bubble. Coat the base with a gloss varnish, seat the design level with an edge and use a softener, so that the film sinks into the engraved lines. A matte varnish at the end will unify the look and prepare the surface for pale Italian dust.
The set is an accessory to a model. The package holds the sheet alone and nothing else belongs with it.
