A finished collector's model of the legendary Czechoslovak Jawa 50 Pionyr moped, nicknamed Parez, in 1:18 scale from the Czech brand Abrex. The model is completely assembled and painted in ivory; it is not a kit and goes straight from the box into a display case. The metal construction with its fine details faithfully captures the characteristic silhouette of the machine from the middle of the 1950s.
The Jawa 50 Pionyr went into production in 1955 and became the first mass-produced Czechoslovak moped, the machine on which whole generations learned to ride. It earned the Czech nickname Parez, meaning tree stump, from the stocky shape of its tank and frame. The simple single-cylinder two-stroke engine of about 50 cc was undemanding to maintain, and thanks to its low fuel consumption and availability the machine became a symbol of freedom for rural youth. Today the early Pionyr machines are among the most popular collector's classics.
The model needs no assembly; simply unpack it and display it. Wipe the painted surface with a dry soft cloth and protect it from direct sunlight so that the color does not fade in time. In a display case it shows to good effect paired with other Jawa motorcycles or beside cars of Czechoslovak production from the same era.
A finished collector's model; it is supplied assembled and painted and is not intended for building or as a toy.
