The destroyer 1:200 USS Donald Cook DDG-75 from I Love Kit is an extensive plastic kit of a modern surface ship of the Arleigh Burke class.
Responsibility details are not available.
The injection-molded kit captures the American guided missile destroyer in an unusually large ship scale, where the outlines of the superstructure, the gun mount on the bow and the hatches of the vertical launch cells all come out. The assembled hull is over three quarters of a meter long, so the item is among the genuinely large projects and you should count on the corresponding room in a display case.
The ship entered service in December 1998 as one of the units of the first production series of the Arleigh Burke class. These ships are recognizable by the fact that they can take a helicopter on the stern deck but have no hangar for it. The heart of the armament is the Aegis combat system with fixed radar faces, the vertical launch system and the rapid-firing gun on the bow. Donald Cook became widely known after it was transferred to Rota in Spain as part of the missile defense of Europe.
Decide right at the start whether you want the full hull or the waterline version on a base, because the preparation of the bottom follows from that. The large gray surfaces of the deck call for an even coat from an airbrush and then for the gaps to be brought out with a thin shade run into them. Railings and antennas in photo-etch, which can be bought separately, will move the result forward most of all.
Paints, glue and a stand are not enclosed.
