A plastic figure set from the series focused on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, in 1:35 scale. It is not a vehicle kit, but a set of figures to be assembled and painted. The subject keeps to a more civilian register: instead of a combat scene it captures the moment when soldiers get news from home. The set is therefore usable as an accessory beside vehicles, where purely combat poses would look out of place.
The series treats a contemporary subject, so the equipment matches today's standard: load-bearing vests and systems with securing straps, tactical helmets, pocketed uniforms with a camouflage pattern and modern accessories. That matters to a modeler, because contemporary equipment is painted differently from uniforms of the Second World War. The materials are mostly textile, with a large share of camouflage patterns, and the surfaces are broken up by straps and pouches. Poses with a relaxed stance also allow more work on the face, which on a figure is always the first thing a viewer looks at.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Clean up the mold seams, which on figures most often run across the arms and the side seams of the trouser legs. Apply a thin primer before painting. Build a camouflage pattern from the bottom up, that is the base tone of the cloth first, then the larger patches and only at the end the fine break-up of the pattern, otherwise the result drowns in detail. Paint the straps and pouches separately, as a separate tone sets them apart from the uniform better than shading does. Leave the face and the hands for last and work on them in good light. Small accessories are easier to paint before they are glued onto the body.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
