This item is not an aircraft model but a detail set from the Quickboost brand. It adds ground covers to a Phantom model, the kind that on the real machine protect sensitive places on the airframe as long as the aircraft stands on the ramp. You can recognize them by the conspicuous flags reading remove before flight. They are exactly what turns an ordinarily built model into a scene of a parked machine, and they draw the eye sooner than any weathering.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4E is the most widespread version of the Phantom II, with a built-in gun in the nose and a pair of General Electric J79 turbojets. The F-4G Wild Weasel V version was created from it by converting airframes and was intended for suppressing enemy air defenses. Both versions have identically arranged external shapes in the places where the ground covers are fitted, so the set serves both.
Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let them dry. They are glued with super glue; ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on them. On the original the flags are a saturated red, so spray them separately, put a light base under them because of the covering power of red, and fit them to the model only after the airframe has been flattened and weathered. Place the thin parts with tweezers and dose the glue with a pin, or the excess will run over the surface.
This is an add-on set, not an aircraft kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
