Resin wheels in 1:35 scale for the Fiat 508 light car with a commercial tread pattern, that is the variant for vehicles on made-up roads.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on set of wheels in cast resin for models of the Fiat 508 light car in 1:35 scale. It carries the commercial, road definition of the tread; the sister set is intended for the cross-country pattern.
On a large tank the wheels tend to be half hidden behind the tracks and the fenders; on a small passenger car it is the other way round: the wheels form a substantial part of the silhouette and the viewer looks straight at them. That is why on light vehicles changing the wheels shows up in the result more than any other small modification. Add to that the fact that small plastic wheels tend to be simplified in the mold, with a soft definition of the pattern and with gate marks on the tire, and it is clear why a resin replacement is popular with this class of vehicle.
The Fiat 508 was an Italian light car of the 1930s, used in military service as a liaison and staff vehicle, and it was also produced under license outside Italy. The commercial tread pattern with its fine lengthwise definition corresponds to cars that drove mainly on the road and in the rear areas; restrained weathering, dust instead of mud and cleaner fenders all suit a wheel like that.
Wash the wheels with detergent, cut the casting block off with a saw and level the face, so that the car does not stand crooked. Glue with cyanoacrylate and let the model set on a flat board. Paint over a primer, the rubber in dark gray and the rim in the shade of the car; you bring the fine pattern out with a light dry brush, whereas a wash would rather flood it.
