Hobby Design 1:24 Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 tires bring one of the most widespread patterns of the Japanese tuning scene into a build.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Hobby Design set with tires made to the Advan Neova AD08 pattern. The name gives a size of sixteen inches, which matches smaller Japanese cars and older compacts. Swapping the rubber tends to be the last step that moves a build from a kit look toward a faithful scale model, because it is the tire that gives the scale away fastest.
The Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 is a semi-slick tire that became one of the standards of the Japanese tuning scene. It is marked by an asymmetric pattern with prominent blocks on the outer side and finer grooves within. The Advan name belongs to Yokohama and has been used for its sporting products since the 1970s, when it appeared on circuits and in rallying alike.
The pattern shows to best effect when a dark wash is run into the grooves and the excess is wiped off dry. Refine the sidewall of the tire with very fine abrasive paper, which removes the parting line from the mold that otherwise draws the eye. The Advan lettering on the sidewall can be suggested with a decal, which you apply only after the surface has been matted down. Seat the wheel so that the contact patch lies flat, otherwise the model looks tilted and the deviation carries over to the whole axle.
