Enkei is a Japanese wheel maker based in Hamamatsu with a long motoring history. Its rims appeared on circuits and on competition specials alike. The RS line belongs to the more sportingly tuned ones, and the RS05RR designation is carried by a wheel that builders of fast Japanese cars for so-called time attack took to. Its thin spokes and an altogether lightened look are characteristic. On a car such a wheel tends to be matched with low-profile rubber, which emphasizes its drawing still further.
Thin spokes are prone to being flooded with paint, so apply several light coats rather than one heavy one. The metallic shades of bronze and gold that this type of rim is often paired with have a pigment that settles to the bottom, so stir the paint before each application. Choose a semi-gloss varnish for the finish, as full gloss visually merges the fine structure of the spokes. Pick dried parts up through a soft cloth, as fingerprints show on a metallic surface.
