A waterslide decal in 1:24 scale from Belkits, printed by Cartograf. It is not a kit and not a paint but a decal sheet with a realistic carbon fiber pattern that is transferred onto the parts of a model with water. The twill pattern imitates carbon with the characteristic diagonal weave.
It serves to imitate visible carbon fiber on models of cars and racing single-seaters. It is applied to the body, diffusers, splitters, interior parts or wings, giving them the look of carbon composite without the labor of painting the pattern. Thanks to the fineness of the pattern it also suits scales around 1:20.
Cut the piece you need out, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and slide it off the backing onto a surface prepared with a gloss varnish. On shaped parts a decal softener helps the film settle without creases. Once dry, go over it with a clear coat in the gloss level you want.
