Metal barrels for the early armament of the F6F Hellcat in 1:24 scale with drilled cooling jackets are an accessory for a kit you already own, not a model. They replace plastic parts on which the perforation of the jacket cannot be produced.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of turned metal barrels for 12.7 mm machine guns with drilled cooling jackets from the Polish maker MASTER. It matches the early form of the armament of the Grumman F6F Hellcat carrier fighter, where the barrels protruded from the leading edge of the wing with the perforation of the jacket visible. It is precisely this detail that cannot be produced from a mold, so the plastic part tends to be just a smooth cylinder.
The F6F Hellcat was an American single-engine carrier fighter of the Second World War period with a Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine and armament made up of 12.7 mm machine guns in the wings. Earlier machines had barrels fitted with a perforated cooling jacket, which is the most conspicuous difference from the later versions when looking closely at the wing. In 1:24 scale it is a detail that every visitor to the display case will look at first.
Work calmly and over a surface, as small metal parts are easily lost. Widen the holes in the wing with a micro drill bit gradually in small steps, so that the plastic is not torn, and try the barrels dry. What matters is the same length of protrusion and the same angle on all the barrels; this is best watched by looking from the front against the light. Glue with gel superglue or with epoxy and wipe any excess away at once. Degrease the metal with alcohol, prime it and paint in thin coats, so that the perforation of the jacket is not filled in.
This is an add-on set for a model, not a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
