The L4500 is a German heavy truck of the Second World War that was built in several versions. The cab is a rewarding place on a model: the glazing is large, the doors can be built open and the instrument panel and the seats are then visible inside.
The set replaces the colored fittings of the cab with printed elements in raised relief. The instruments, the plates and the highlights are printed directly in color, so there is no need to pick out tiny dial faces with a brush, something even the finest brush barely manages in 1:35 scale. The elements are intended for models of the L4500 series, so compare the shapes against the manufacturer's instructions.
The elements are printed on backing decal paper and are applied by the wet method. Cut the part from the sheet, dip it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and then slide it off the paper into place. The element has no adhesive layer of its own; it holds reliably on gloss varnish, that is, on a coat of a product such as Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, as the chemistry would attack the printed resin. Set the element with tweezers and press it down with a cotton swab from the center to the edges, push it into recesses with a blunt tip and help it over a broken surface with a drop of super glue. Once dry, the finished interior can be unified with a matte varnish.
The set suits modelers of military vehicles who want a legible cab without painting small details. The package contains the elements described; the model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
