About product

The real subject

The second-generation Isuzu Gemini is a small passenger car of the second half of the 1980s. Compared with its angular predecessor it received front-wheel drive and a more softly shaped body, and thanks to Isuzu's ties at the time with a large American group it shared its technical basis with European cars of similar size from the same period. The JT190 designation belongs to the type range of this generation. The name Irmscher then belongs to a German company that works on sporting conversions of cars, that is, body accessories, wheels, seats and chassis work. A version with that conversion therefore differs from the standard car above all in appearance and in interior equipment.

The rendering in 1:24 scale

Among car models 1:24 is one of the most widespread scales and it lets even small things stand out, such as the divisions of the grille, the door handles or the pattern of the wheels. The detailed contents of the set and the working procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Building and painting tips

With a car model the result is decided above all by the surface of the body. Wash and degrease the parts first so that the paint holds, sand fine irregularities down and level the surface with a filler primer. Then apply the paint in several thin coats, letting the surface flash off between them, because a thick coat fills sharp edges and marks left from production. Finally give the body a coat of gloss clear and polish it. Window frames, trim strips and grilles come out when you paint behind them in a dark shade and wipe the excess away.

Who it is for

For modelers and collectors who like Japanese cars of the 1980s and their sporting conversions. It fits well into a collection of smaller civilian cars beside off-road and racing machines. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
