A sheet of waterslide decals with the logos and lettering with which modified Japanese cars were covered. The motifs suit the body, the side windows and the inside of the cabin alike and are designed for models in 1:24 scale. The designation suggests that this is the first sheet of a line, which a sequel with further motifs follows on from.
The abbreviation JDM designates cars originally intended for the domestic Japanese market. Stickers belong inseparably to the culture that formed around them: the brands of parts makers, the lettering of tuning shops, club badges behind the glass and small humorous motifs at the rear. On a model it is precisely these details that give away whether the car represents a carefully maintained example or a worn-out machine from night runs.
They hold best on a smooth surface varnished in advance. Cut the motif out as closely as possible, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it starts to move on its backing. On the edge of glass or of a recess, decal softener will help, as it draws the base of the decal into the shape. At the end, unite the whole car with matte or semi-matte varnish, so that the edges disappear.
The decals are applied onto a finished varnished surface, and the necessary chemicals are not in the package.
