GasPatch Models 1:24 Oberursel UR.II is a 3D-printed resin rotary engine in the large 1:24 scale for builders of First World War aircraft models.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an aircraft kit but a separate, exceptionally detailed resin engine in the large 1:24 scale intended for experienced modelers. The Oberursel UR.II is a rotary engine of the kind that powered the legendary aircraft of the First World War, above all the Fokker Dr.I triplane. The large scale lets the fine rendering of the cylinder cooling fins and of the mechanical details come into its own. The set is 3D printed in resin; the manufacturer is the Greek brand GasPatch Models.
The Oberursel UR.II was a German rotary aircraft engine built under license from the French Le Rhône design. A rotary engine turned together with the propeller around a fixed crankshaft – the typical powerplant arrangement of combat aircraft at the end of the First World War. In the large 1:24 scale the engine becomes a striking centerpiece of the model.
Wash the parts to remove mold release residue and separate them carefully from the thin print supports. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The engine comes alive with a combination of metallic shades, drybrushing and a wash that brings out the cylinder fins. Sand the resin with respiratory protection. In the large scale, patient work on the details pays off.
The engine is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit. Glue, paints and the base aircraft model are not included in the package.
