A widebody conversion of the modern Japanese hatchback as rendered by the Alpha Model brand. The body and most of the parts are made by casting in resin, so the set belongs in the hands of a modeler who has already worked with this material. The flared fenders and front parts come from the styling of the Rocket Bunny shop.
The Toyota GR Yaris appeared in 2020 and shares little with an ordinary Yaris. It has a three-door body of its own, all-wheel drive and a turbocharged three-cylinder of 1.6 liters, which is among the most powerful production engines of its size. It came about for homologation for competition use and quickly became a sought-after basis for conversions – one of them being the demonstration car of the Japanese firm HKS.
Before painting, set the parts together dry and check how the widenings seat on the flanks; fill any gaps with putty. A two-tone scheme is built up in layers from the lighter shade and masked with a tape that gives a sharp edge. Lay a filler primer on the rougher surfaces so that the decals adhere without silvering. Fit the rims and tires only once the paint is finished, so that the body is not scratched.
The box holds parts for completion, not a finished car. Paints and glue have to be obtained separately.
