Wheels in the Rotiform DIA pattern in the form 20 inches in diameter, in 1:24 scale. An accessory for building a modified modern car.
Responsibility details are not available.
The DIA pattern comes from the range of the American make Rotiform, which focuses on wheels for modified cars. The number 20 at the end of the name gives the diameter of the rim in inches; in 1:24 scale roughly 21 mm works out from that. A wheel of such a size changes the overall expression of a model more than most other small alterations, because it takes up a substantial part of the arch.
These are wheels in the DIA pattern intended to be swapped for the parts from a kit. They suit builds of modern-day cars on which the wheels are to come across as an added modification, and dioramas where the car stands in the foreground and the wheel is in plain view. The extent of the package, how the parts are divided and the recommended glue are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
A dry trial is always in order with large wheels: check the diameter, the width and whether the wheel does not rub against the arch once the axle is seated. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little from the part, sand the area level and wash and degrease the parts before painting. The rim will bear a metallic as well as a richly colored shade; more important than the choice of color is a smooth base, because on the large area of a wheel every unevenness stands out.
The wheels will be appreciated by modelers who build modern automobiles in 1:24 scale and want the car brought into line with the appearance of a modified subject. It is an accessory to building a model: paints, glue and tools do not belong to it, unless stated otherwise.
