An injection-molded plastic kit of the competition Subaru Legacy RS in 1:24 scale. This boxing from the Japanese firm Hasegawa is, according to the name, tied to the form for Rally New Zealand in 1990.
The Legacy RS was the first car with which Subaru entered the World Rally Championship in earnest. It grew out of the production first-generation sedan and, for Group A, received a turbocharged two-liter flat-four and all-wheel drive, that is the combination that remained the marque's hallmark on its later competition cars as well. 1990 was the debut season for the Legacy RS; the fast gravel stages of Rally New Zealand were among the events where the car was run in and where data was gathered for its further development.
A competition car from the 1990s stands on its decals. The base has to be perfectly glossy, or matte microscopic scratches will show under the large sheets. Lay the decals onto gloss varnish, use a softener on the curved edges and around the fenders and let them dry thoroughly, and only then cover the whole car with a top coat. If you want to dust the car, keep to a measure: a fine breath of pigment behind the wheels and on the sills looks more credible than mud over the whole body. The interior of a competition car is dark and full of detail; a dry brush and a dark wash will help.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
