The injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese maker Aoshima captures the luxury Toyota Soarer coupe in the 2.5GT-Twin Turbo L version of 1991. The 1:24 scale is the most widespread for car models, so the finished vehicle fits in size among the other road models in a display case.
The Z30 generation Soarer was introduced in 1991 as Toyota's flagship coupe for the Japanese market; in export form the same body was sold under the Lexus brand. The factory code JZZ30 belongs to the version with the 1JZ-GTE inline six-cylinder engine of 2.5 liters with twin turbochargers and with rear-wheel drive. A smooth pillarless coupe silhouette, a long nose and rich equipment made it a typical representative of the large Japanese coupe of the turn of the 1980s and 1990s.
On road cars it is the quality of the paint that decides, not the number of parts. First clear the body of mold seams, sand them with fine paper and apply filler primer, which shows up the remaining unevenness. Spray the color coat in several thin layers and only then the gloss clear coat; always choose the thinner to suit the chemistry of the paint, as acrylic and clear coat do not mix. Leave the chromed parts in their original finish and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue or with glue for clear plastic, so that they do not cloud over. Mask the glazing before spraying the interior and close the body up only once the dashboard and the seats are finished.
