1:24 Turbo Kit RB26DETT is a detail add-on set from Yamamoto Model Parts with which the RB26DETT engine on a model in 1:24 scale gets a worked-out turbocharger system.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not a kit of a car, but a detail set intended for building up an engine compartment. It concentrates on the turbocharger system of the RB26DETT inline six-cylinder, that is, on exactly the part which plastic kits mostly handle in a simplified way. The set is intended for 1:24 scale and reckons with your already having the base model of the engine from a kit.
The RB26DETT is a twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder of 2.6 liters which Nissan put into the sporting versions of the Skyline GT-R. Among enthusiasts for Japanese cars it is famous for a robust bottom end and great potential for modification, so its engine compartment tends to be the most watched place on a model. The turbochargers, their piping and the distribution of pressurized air form a striking group of parts in the engine compartment, recognizable at first sight.
Fit the detail parts before you close the engine into the engine compartment, as once the hood is closed you will no longer reach them. Glue small parts in spots with super glue, degrease the surfaces beforehand and spray them over with a primer, so that the paint holds. It pays to try dry where the hoses and the piping will run, and only then to shorten them. The turbocharger and the exhaust manifolds look more faithful if, once sprayed, you also tone them with pigments in the shades of heated and worn metal.
It is an add-on set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
