This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:25 scale from Revell captures the Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H of 2006 in its characteristic black and gold finish. The model has a multi-part V8, a removable hood, chrome-plated parts and decals for the period appearance of the car. The kit is rated among the more demanding ones (a higher level of difficulty), so it offers a richly broken-up engine bay as well as a chassis.
The Shelby GT-H followed on from the legendary Shelby GT350-H of 1966, the so-called rent-a-racer, that is a sports car you could hire from a rental company and go racing with straight away. The 2006 version brought that idea back in limited numbers and took over the typical black paint with gold stripes as well. Under the hood worked a powerful gasoline V8, which made the Mustang a true American muscle car.
The foundation of success is a deep black finish: spray it over a primer in thin coats and finish with a gloss clear coat. The gold stripes are made either with decals or by masking; if you choose decals, apply them over a gloss surface and fix them with a decal softener. The multi-part engine and the chassis offer room for washes and for bringing out the details. Strip the chrome layer off the chrome-plated parts where they are to be glued.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
