A replacement gun pod for a MiG-21MF model in 1:48 scale, late version. It replaces the corresponding part of the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-21 was the most widespread supersonic fighter of its day, and the MF was among the most numerous versions. The development of its gun armament went through it as well: the early versions lost the gun from the fuselage and relied on guided missiles, but service showed that a cannon on board still made sense. A gun pod with a twin-barrel 23 mm cannon therefore appeared on the MiG-21, and it went through several versions during production.
A replacement gun pod in 1:48 scale in the late version, intended to take the place of the part from the kit. The accessory captures the shape and the surface detail more accurately than a split mold of a large kit can manage. The contents of the package and the procedure for fitting it are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Before building, compare the accessory with the subject you are building, because the early and the late versions differ in detail. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down. Dry-fit it first and adjust the seat on the model as needed, and only then glue it. Choose the cement according to the material of the part; on parts that are not polystyrene, cyanoacrylate holds. Wash and degrease the part before painting so that the primer holds on the smooth surface.
For modelers who build the MiG-21 in 1:48 scale and want its armament in a better shape than the one from the box. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
