An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M16 assault rifle from the AR15/M16/M4 model family, in the large 1:3 scale from Trumpeter. It is not a vehicle or an aircraft but a faithful enlarged model of the weapon itself, which once assembled makes a striking display piece. A stand for display is usually included.
The M16 is an American 5.56 mm assault rifle that grew out of the AR-15 design and became one of the most widespread weapons of its class in the world. It served from the 1960s with the American army and many other armed forces and gave rise to a whole family of derived versions including the M4 carbines. It is distinguished by its light construction and its characteristic carrying handle.
Glue the parts with a modeling glue for plastic; in a large scale even small details will stand out. For a realistic look use dark metal shades and matte black surfaces, and the exposed places can be lightly accentuated with wear down to steel. We recommend a matte varnish to finish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
