An add-on wheel set in 1:35 scale for a model of the vehicle designated Luchs. On military vehicles the wheels are among the parts where the work put in shows most: they sit at the viewer's eye level, they form the only contact between the model and its base, and their shape gives itself away even at a glance. That is why replacement wheels are among the very first accessories people buy.
The name Luchs is carried by two entirely different German vehicles, a light reconnaissance tank of the Second World War and a postwar wheeled reconnaissance car. Compare the number and the diameter of the wheels with the kit you are building, and check that the way they attach to the axles or stubs matches as well. The 1:35 scale is fixed and the set will not fit models in another scale.
The material of add-on wheels differs from one manufacturer to another, so reach for a glue intended for that material; polystyrene cement does not take on these parts in most cases. Cut the excess material and the traces of production off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the mating surface stays intact. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, because paint holds poorly on an unwashed surface. If the parts have a molded flattened contact patch, it has to point to the ground on the finished model.
The set suits modelers who are finishing a model for a display case or a competition and want running gear cleaner and crisper than the base kit yields. Fitting the wheels calls for no change to the structure, so even a less experienced builder will manage it. Paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
