This set holds the wheel bays and the gun bays cast in resin for the American A-4 Skyhawk carrier-based attack aircraft in the A-4E/F versions in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail accessory that replaces the corresponding compartments of the base plastic model with more faithful castings. It is made by Aires, a Czech brand.
The A-4 Skyhawk was a light American carrier-based attack aircraft with a long service career. The wheel bays are clearly visible on a model with the landing gear extended, and the compartments around the gun armament add to the fidelity of the aircraft. A detailed rendering of these areas markedly raises the realism of the build.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate the casting blocks and sand the parting lines. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The bays usually call for reworking the fuselage and the wing; after laying down a primer, paint them in the matching shades and pick out the surfaces with a wash and a dry brush.
This is a resin accessory, not an airplane model. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
