HGW 1:32 Bf 109G-2/G-4 Seatbelts are fabric seat belts for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G in 1:32 scale. The soft material can be formed into a realistic sag that a plastic or photo-etched belt never has.

The set contains seat belts for the cockpit of a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2 and G-4 in 1:32 scale. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model. The belts are the first thing a viewer sees on an open cockpit and at the same time the thing kits tend to handle worst, because they are either missing altogether or molded on the seat as a flat relief. The fabric version from the Czech manufacturer HGW solves both: the material is thin, pliable and already finished in color.
The Bf 109G, nicknamed Gustav, was the most widespread version of this single-engined fighter. It was powered by the DB 605 V12 engine with direct fuel injection. The G-2 and G-4 versions were among the unpressurized variants of the early series and differed from each other mainly in the radio equipment and in small details on the landing gear. The cockpit was narrow, the seat a simple metal shell, and the belts in it formed a distinctly light element against the dark interior.
Separate the belts with a sharp scalpel and hold them between your fingers for a while before gluing, because warmth and pressure soften the material and it then holds its shape better. Work from the anchor points toward the buckles. Form the sag so that the belt stands straight in the air nowhere: it either lies on the seat or hangs over its edge. Glue in spots, with gel cyanoacrylate glue or with thin PVA glue, and dose the glue on the tip of a toothpick. If the set contains metal buckles, deburr them and dry-fit them before threading the belt to see whether it will pass through the opening.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a standalone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
