A classic deep red with a gloss surface according to the name. Red is among the shades where the surface beneath matters more than with other colors: over a light preparation it comes out clean and lively, over a dark one it easily shifts toward a brownish tone. Gloss moreover underlines every unevenness of the surface, so the preparation of a part carries exceptional weight with this paint.
Red finds work on the striking areas of robot models, on racing machines and on small items where the contrast is meant to be as great as possible. Combined with a gloss surface it gives the look of a factory finish that will stand up even to a close-up photograph. The shade holds attention even on a small area, so there is no need to be sparing with it on small parts either.
Smooth and degrease the surface of the part, because gloss will reveal even fine scratches left by sanding. Lay down a light base and over it the red in two or three thin coats. Choose the thinner and the cleaner according to what the manufacturer states for this particular range; swapping products between ranges will damage the layer. A gloss layer needs a longer time to cure fully, so do not hurry with masking and with decals.
When spraying, use respiratory protection and ventilate.
