A set of resin barrels for the onboard guns of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190D fighter in 1:32 scale from the maker Quickboost. It is a precisely cast replacement for the protruding muzzles and barrels, not a stand-alone aircraft model. The detail parts replace the thicker, solid barrels from a base kit with crisper castings with the openings suggested.
The Fw 190D, nicknamed the Dora, was a late version of the famous fighter with a lengthened fuselage and an inverted V12 Junkers Jumo 213 engine. It carried onboard guns whose muzzles protruded from the wing leading edge and from the cowling ahead of the cockpit. In the large 1:32 scale, thin and crisp barrels are far more convincing than the more robust parts from an injection mold.
Resin parts call for more careful work: wash them to remove mold release residue, separate them from the casting block carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways while sanding. Paint the barrels in shades of steel through to blued metal, darken the muzzles slightly and handle the small parts with care, because they are fragile.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
