Gnome Monosoupape 9B 1:32 Roden is an injection-molded plastic kit of a stand-alone model of a First World War aircraft rotary engine.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic kit from Roden is not an aircraft but a stand-alone collector model of the Gnome Monosoupape 9B aircraft rotary engine in 1:32 scale. The set is made of injection-molded plastic, holds finely rendered cylinder and valve-gear parts and an enclosed stand for display. The model is meant to be glued and painted and will also serve as an accessory to models of aircraft of this period.
The Gnome Monosoupape was a French rotary aircraft engine whose name means single valve. It ranked among the best powerplants of the early period of aviation and powered a number of fighter and training aircraft of the First World War. In a rotary engine the whole cylinder block turned around a fixed crankshaft together with the propeller.
Cut the small parts from the sprues carefully and clean them up. Use liquid cement for the plastic, bring out the metal surfaces in metal shades and render the valve-gear details with a fine wash. Dry-brushing helps to pick out the edges of the cylinders. The finished engine looks best on the enclosed stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
