The decal set 1:32 Hawker Tempest Mk.II/F2 from AIMS is intended for large models of the radial-engined version of the British Tempest fighter-bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals for the form of the Tempest driven by a radial engine. The designations Mk.II and F.2 belong to the same aircraft; the second of them is a postwar redesignation under which the type saw out its service with the Royal Air Force and with its successor users in Asia.
While the best-known Tempest, the Mk.V, carried the H-block Napier Sabre, the Mk.II rendition was given the Bristol Centaurus radial. The result was a clean, aerodynamically refined machine with excellent performance near the ground, but it no longer made it into the fighting in Europe. It came into its own only after the war, among other places in India and Pakistan, where it arrived after the partition of the British colonial administration, and in British formations in the Far East. In British colors it was still being flown in the first half of the 1950s, when jets were taking over the main role.
The large cowling of the radial engine and the four-blade propeller dominate the front end, so give them time, because a propeller out of true spoils the impression of the whole model. Lay the roundels on the wings only once the flying surfaces are finished, and watch the symmetry against the aileron hinges. Line the fuselage band of national insignia up against a panel line, not by eye.
What is offered are decals for a Tempest model in the large scale.
