The real subject

The UH-1D is one of the versions of the helicopter known by the nickname Huey. Compared with the older machines it has a longer fuselage and a roomier cabin, so it takes more soldiers as well as more cargo. The machine stands on skids and the cargo bay has wide sliding doors on both sides, which were often left open in flight. It is precisely the open doors that make the inside of the helicopter a place that is more visible on a model than on an airplane.

What the set contains

The equipment of the cargo bay in 1:35 scale. A kit as a rule only suggests the inside of the cabin, because with the doors closed it would not show anyway; a separate set fills it out so that the model stands up to a look inside. Building and painting tips

Fit the parts dry and in stages, before you glue the fuselage halves together. Cut the excess material and the production marks away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder off, then wash and degrease the parts. They are not polystyrene, so a cement for plastic models has no effect on them; reach for super glue. Paint the whole inside before the fuselage is closed up: the base shade first, then a glaze into the corners and a dry brush on the edges. Paint the seat belts and the small details in with a brush at the end, so that they stand out from the walls.
