The set brings color, three-dimensionally raised cockpit detail for models of the P-47N Thunderbolt fighter in 1:32 scale. These are 3D decals printed on backing decal paper, not photo-etch and not cast resin. The instrument panel, the side consoles and the other panels have realistically recessed dials, raised levers and knobs and color labels.
The P-47N was the long-range version of the heavy Thunderbolt fighter intended for the vast Pacific, with larger wings, a greater fuel load and a range that allowed bombers to be escorted over long distances. The rugged aircraft with its radial engine was among the heaviest single-engine fighters of its day.
Brush the surface under the decal with gloss varnish (Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22) and let it dry. Cut the element out, soak it for about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water and slide it off the paper into place in the cockpit. It has no adhesive layer of its own and holds on the gloss varnish; on broken-up shapes a drop of super glue helps. Do not use decal softener or setting solution, they attack the printed resin. Build the layers up according to the instructions.
This is an accessory for detailing, not a model in its own right. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
