Self-adhesive grass tufts from the Wild Shapes range, 2 mm high in a fresh green shade, for dioramas, bases and model railways.
Responsibility details are not available.
Tufts are ready-made clumps of grass fibers stuck to a backing sheet. They turn green scatter into growth that has height and direction, and they can turn a flat base into a piece of landscape. This product from the Wild Shapes range measures two millimeters and carries the fresh green shade of lush, well-watered growth.
Two millimeters correspond in 1:35 scale to about seven centimeters of real height, that is to low mown grass by a path or growth on trodden earth. In 1:48 scale it works out at roughly ten centimeters and in 1:72 scale at around fourteen, so there it is already an ordinary meadow. Low tufts also suit places where taller grass would cover the detail that is meant to be looked at.
The tufts have an adhesive underside, so it is enough to lift them off the backing sheet with tweezers and press them into place. The surface has to be dry and free of dust, or the adhesive layer will not hold; on loose scatter, add a drop of PVA glue (white glue). Place them irregularly, in clumps of varying density, because growth in nature does not come up in rows. It is better to build the density of the growth up gradually and to look the scene over from the side between steps, not from above.
A base, terrain support, scatter and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
