An add-on track set in 1:35 scale for two Soviet tracked vehicles that the name lists: the 9K37M1 Buk air defense system and the 152 mm 2S3 Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer. Both vehicles stand on wide tracked running gear, so the track is visible along its whole length on the finished model and has a say in how the whole thing looks. The set serves as a replacement for the tracks supplied in the kit.
Fit the tracks only once the running gear is finished and the drive sprocket and the idler wheel sit firmly in line. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully so that the mating surfaces meet. The material of the parts and the recommended glue are given in the manufacturer's instructions, so follow them. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, because paint does not hold on a greasy surface.
A proven approach is a dark base, then highlighting of the upper surfaces once it has dried, and finally dust and mud to match the setting you place the model in. On the real vehicle only the mating surfaces of the track and the sides of the guide horns are metallic and shiny; the rest stays matte. Apply the weathering sparingly so that the relief of the links stays visible.
The set is meant for modelers who want to replace the kit tracks on both vehicles. Paints, glue and other building materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
