An accessory set for 1:35 scale with rounds of 12.7x99 mm caliber, commonly designated the .50 BMG. It is not a kit of a weapon or a vehicle but a small accessory for a finished model — ammunition by the machine gun on a turret, rounds stacked on a fender or scattered on the base of a scene.
The 12.7x99 mm round is the standard Western heavy ammunition. The main weapon of this caliber is the American Browning M2 heavy machine gun, or rather its M2HB version, which appears on commander's cupolas and mounts from Second World War vehicles to the present day — from Shermans through the M48 and M60 to the Abrams and light wheeled vehicles. The same caliber was also used in the Second World War in the armament of American fighters. It differs from the Soviet 12.7x108 mm caliber in its shorter case and is not interchangeable with it.
The material of the package is not stated here, so choose the glue according to what is in the set: solvent cement for plastic, cyanoacrylate for resin and metal. Wash resin castings in warm soapy water first, so that they are rid of any mold release residue. A brass shade suits the cases and a darker metal the bullets; a fine wash will even the sharp transitions out and at the same time settle the shadow between the rounds. Belts of rounds look best when you give them a slight sag and set the metal links apart from the cases. At the end add a little dust pigment, so that the ammunition fits in with the rest of the model.
The set is supplied unpainted and is not a model on its own. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
